Guy Antinozzi, Special Risk Consultant, HRH

by Article Written by Goldey Beacom Student Mimi Hoffman

Guy Antinozzi is a security expert and co-author of "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Campus Safety". As a consultant with HRH Risk Mitigation, his professional background includes law enforcement as a street cop and investigator, a law degree, and academic safety consultant. He has a passion for ensuring the safety of people everywhere which includes the workplace. With his down to earth approach and humor, Mr. Antinozzi was effective in conveying the serious nature of the subject while keeping the audience engaged.

During the session, those who attended seemed eager to hear the tips and methods Mr. Antinozzi presented for assessing threat vulnerability, developing an emergency management plan and executing the plan during a crisis. Through real life examples he stressed the importance for HR profossionals and business leaders to understand the culture of the demographic area in which they operate as well as the implications of legal issues such as protective orders.

Although he delivered several strategies, the one key point Mr. Antinozzi stressed was AWARENESS. Whether at school, work or home, remaining well-informed about the environment in which we function is the only way to ensure the safety and security of those we love and as professionals, those for whom we are responsible.
